This new single-family residence was a long time in the planning stages, requiring nearly 2 years to secure the state, regional and local approvals. Replacing a small, dilapidated shack that had long stood on the site, this Craftsman-style home sits proudly upon its hill while blending gently into the California live oak grove.
A single living/dining room forms the gracious center of the home, connecting to the kitchen, front office and rear yard sunken terrace. A master suite upstairs opens to a private trellis-covered balcony overlooking the backyard. Two additional guest bedrooms complete the upstairs.
Many rich material were selected for this distinctive home including, sage green slate roofing, steel trowel integral-color plaster, Italian mahogany windows & doors, hand-hewn walnut floors, ‘Murano’ glass light fixtures and custom milled wood trims. The stairway inside also features a ‘floral pattern’ iron work railing designed by the owner.
