This quirky mid century cottage began to feel small as the family grew from two to four. With the children then outgrowing their small, shared bedroom, it became apparent that the house would have to grow to preserve domestic tranquility.  

Since the house sat on fairly small lot, and the children still needed a yard for playing, the ground floor couldn’t expand too much.  The best design solution was found in adding a new second floor that would provide the kids each a private room with a shared bath.  Mom and Dad’s room received a modest expansion toward the rear and a simple bathroom update to give them a proper Master Suite. 

The kitchen also received a major updated as well.  New custom cabinets and Art Deco tile and flooring details give this eat-in kitchen all the modern conveniences combined with historic charm.
